Each ESP has a different process for going live. Ensure to understand the requirements before getting started. To get started, you need to follow the basic Engage setup, and coordinate with your Email Service Provider (ESP).
Set up your layouts and placements
Create a layout and placement for your email content, just as you would for other Engage content, ensure you set the appropriate attributes to these input types when you set up your layout variables:
-
Click URL input type: mapped to your click-through URL attribute
-
Asset (image, video, etc.) input type: mapped to your image URL attribute
Note: You can set up email open URLs and click-through URLs on your domain using an API Gateway-based reverse proxy solution. You can find the guide to set up a reverse proxy solution on this page.
The layout itself can be very simple, and will often look identical to the layouts you use to show content on your website. Check out the sample layout.
Set up the campaign with your ESP
Once the layouts and placements are in place, you'll need to set up the code for your ESP.
Note: JavaScript is not supported in email or image generator.
